What Can I Expect At My First Visit?
For your first appointment with Dr. Desiree Van Bogart please arrive 15 minutes early. We will take this time to gather information about your needs, your health history, and your insurance.
Dr. Van Bogart will perform a chiropractic examination that will include standard orthopedic and neurological examinations to determine the nature and extend of the complaint. Our technique does not require x-rays to diagnose and treat chiropractic conditions. However, if x-rays or further medical diagnostic tests are deemed necessary, Dr. Van Bogart will refer patients to the proper medical specialist.
The treatment consists of the chiropractic adjustment, which is very gentle and virtually painless. Please visit the Activator Methods website to learn more about this effective, yet gentle chiropractic technique. Depending on the extent of your condition, we may include muscle work, rehabilitative exercises, or adjunctive therapies such as ice or heat. Patients will typically feel and see results within 1-2 hours after their first adjustment.
Estimate that your first appointment will be about 30-40 minutes long. This allows time for Dr. Van Bogart to evaluate your condition and find the best solution for your needs. Follow up appointments are typically 5-10 minutes.
