A Workout a Day …. Can it Keep the “Doc” Away?

A Workout a Day Can Help Keep the Doc Away!

We’ve all heard the saying that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Well, we want everyone single one of our clients to feel as great as you can. And we know that it all starts with a healthy heart. So today, we want to remind everyone to stay active, because there are a lot of health benefits included!

Regular exercise –  at least 30 to 60 minutes of moderately intense physical activity most days of the week, helps the heart muscle work more efficiently by lowering blood pressure, raising “good” HDL, cholesterol, and helping maintain a healthy weight, since obesity is a well-known risk for cardiovascular disease.

This alone, is a compelling reason to keep moving!

Try a brisk walk on the walking trails at the Coon Rapids Dam, or mix it up with some mini jaunts of hiking at Taylors Falls, all of which are great for both beginners or seasoned athletes. You can control the level of exertion with speed, walking poles and even a rucking backpack with some added weights.

Oh, and don’t forget all the lakes out here in Minnesota… rent a kayak and enjoy a nice paddling adventure around a quiet lake.

Just keep staying active! Even gentle walks can help ease pain and keep us on track to being healthier. Do you need suggestions for exercises or some stretches to tie into your chiropractic care? Just ask me at your next appointment, and I am happy to recommend some things to keep you active, the safe way for your body!
